Thanks to all IASS 2016 participants, sponsors, and exhibitors who made this year’s summit so successful. FSF is pleased to report that attendance topped last year’s IASS in Miami Beach and early survey returns indicate very positive results. Data-fused Automation Increases Situational Awareness, Poses New Challenges
Despite the presence of enhanced ground proximity warning and other systems, the technological advances offered by modern avionics are not always recognized fully along with crew training, crew resource management and standard operating procedures. The final day of IASS 2016 will include a presentation on next-generation flight safety systems by Dr. Ratan Khatwa, senior chief engineer for human factors at Honeywell Aerospace.
