Airport Safety Award

Established and first presented in 1996 (previously known as the Air BP Ramp Safety Award), this award recognized outstanding or significant improvement in the ramp environment through innovation and implementation of a ramp safety program. Recipients were honored for their efforts in such areas as prevention of ground-damage accidents, improvement of aircraft rescue and fire fighting services and reduction of injuries among baggage handlers.

The award was administered by the Foundation and was presented every other year at the Foundation’s International Aviation Safety Seminar. It was discontinued as in 2011.
