Key Safety Issues

Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The safe integration of unmanned aircraft systems — commonly referred to as "drones" and also called unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) — into civilian airspace is an urgent global issue driven by consumer and industrial demand. Among the operational safety issues raised by UAS are risk of collision with other aircraft and the risk of loss of control of the UAS.
